Would you condemn a man for doing what is best for him and his
family? Think carefully before you answer that question. People will do
things unexpected when they're wounded emotionally.
I
understand the pain, and the feelings of betrayal. I get that it's a
"family", though only lately have I seen that "family" mentality really
return, which is a really good thing if it really is returning. However,
I don't understand the treatment of a friend that has loved and been
loved by others, FOR 9 YEARS. It's down right cold, and in my opinion,
unwarranted.
This wasn't done to intentionally hurt or betray anyone. It was a
decision that was led to that conclusion through MONTHS of prayer and
counsel. It was made because we felt God was calling us to go, and it
was made because we knew there were areas that we just did not belong. We felt it would be inappropriate for us to tell people about our plan, as it would only cause unnecessary drama. We also had a plan to break the news, and it was laid out ahead of time, it just didn't happen in the time frame we thought it would. That was completely out of our control. We didn't intend to hurt anyone (we were denied letting certain people know and when we offered explanation we were again denied) and I'm sorry that the concern is mainly on the fact that you're missing a drummer (which could've been easily remedied) and not on the fact that you're missing a "dear" friend.
There is a big show of being a family now, great, it wasn't there before the departure. I have watched as I encouraged my husband to reach out to friends only to see him, get rejected just about every time.
Being in a church is not about being loyal to people...it's about being loyal to the Lord. He is who we serve and we knew he was asking us to move on.
We really tried to make it as painless as possible. That didn't happen for anyone.
I love my husband and I love our life. We look forward
to what God has in store for us, because God called us to this place.
And he brought us here for a reason.

Blessed...
We are blessed beyond belief. I still sit in awe at times of the way God
has blessed the beginning of my marriage with Mike. Our house is
beautiful! We pray that soon we'll be able to have many opportunities of
fellowshipping with others in our home. Also, that someday soon we'll
be able to fill this place with children. However, we are happy now to
have it be filled with two people and an old lady dog.
Here are some photos of our home!

I forgot to take a picture of the front of the house, but rest assured it is beautiful too. It's been fun so far taking care of our house, but I'm sure once the novelty wears off it'll become less fun!

Where we are....
Mike and have now been married for 8 going on 9 months. Eight months of sharing a bed, losing keys (only Mike), praying together, and lesson planning...together. I never understood what marriage really entailed until you know, I was married. It's a beautiful and exciting adventure. Some parts are fun and some parts not so much.
We have been blessed enough to be able to afford a beautiful and gigantic house. I am very excited to decorate our house and make it a home. One day, hopefully sooner than later, we will fill it with children.
Mike has started a new job. He is working as a 3rd grade gifted teacher at San Tan Learning center and so far he is loving it. He has a great team, who support him and help him become a better teacher. He also has a wonderful class full of very supportive parents. I am excited for him and what this year is going to bring for him!
I am again at Galveston Elementary School in Chandler! This year I have a wonderful class, full of bright and sweet children.
We also have made the hard and emotional decision to leave our home church. Mike grew up (basically) in this church, and they were so supportive of our marriage and our wedding. We are so thankful for everything they have done for us, but it was time for us to leave. We did attend another church this past Sunday and are looking forward to growing and fellowshipping closer to home.
Next time I'll upload some photos of our home.
